At First Steps, family is at the heart of everything we do. Family owned since 2020, our school is owned and managed by Enrique and Jennifer, whose three children—Jennali, Enzo, and Roic—have all attended. As both owners and parents, they understand how much it means to find a school where your child feels welcomed, supported, and excited to learn.
Jennifer holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work from Hunter College, bringing a strong understanding of child development and family support to her role at First Steps.
Their connection to First Steps is deeply personal. It’s where their own children have learned, played, and built friendships, and they bring that same care to creating a warm, nurturing environment for every family who joins our school community.
Outside of school, Enrique and Jennifer own a farm in Colts Neck, home to two horses, a donkey, and a Highland cow. Caring for their animals is a special part of family life, filled with opportunities to explore, learn, and spend time together.
They also own The Little Estate, a children’s party company that brings celebrations to life with soft play, water slides, bounce houses, and meet-and-greets with their family’s farm animals. It’s another way they share their love of creating joyful experiences for children.
Whether in the classroom, on the farm, or at a celebration, Enrique and Jennifer share one simple goal: helping children feel cared for while making wonderful memories along the way.
